We take action locally and globally

16 Million volunteer hours each year
We Solve Problems
No challenge is too big for us
For more than 110 years, we’ve bridged cultures and connected continents to champion peace, fight illiteracy and poverty, promote clean water and sanitation, and fight disease.
2.5 Billion children immunized against polio
Rotary fosters understanding across cultures. We train adults and young leaders to prevent and mediate conflict and help refugees who have fled dangerous areas.See how we foster peace
Educating on the front lines
Sneaking into Boko Haram’s back yard to rescue girls wasn’t what a university president had planned on, but she, a Rotary Club and community leaders braved “dangerous territory” in Nigeria and started programs to feed and education refugees – whose number eventually swelled to 400,000.
We are resolved to rid the world of polio forever. We also educate and equip communities to stop other diseases and expand access to health care.Learn how we combat disease
Pakistan’s rise to zero
At a busy toll plaza in Kohat, Pakistan, a three-member vaccination team is working fast. Outfitted in blue Rotary vests and flanked by armed military personnel, Rotary vaccinators wade through a sea of traffic to find any child who hasn’t received the polio vaccine. Pakistan and Rotary have turned what was 'a badge of shame' into a model for disease eradication.
Providing Clean Water
We help bring sustainable clean water, sanitation, and hygiene to more people every day. We don’t just build wells and walk away.Learn more on clean water
Rotary and the U.S. Agency for International Development work together to support clean water and sanitation projects.
Saving Mothers & Children
We expand access to quality medical care, sanitation, education and economic opportunities so mothers and their children can live and grow stronger.Learn how we save lives
Australia putting an end to domestic violence
The statistics are sobering: Intimate partner violence is the most common type of violence against women, affecting 30 percent of women worldwide. Recognizing the desperate need, Rotary clubs throughout Australia and New Zealand are working to raise awareness, prevention and victim support.
Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy.See how we improve education
Teaching the Teachers
Getting kids into school isn’t enough to solve illiteracy so Rotary focuses on improving education by training and mentoring teachers.
Growing Local Economies
We carry out service projects that enhance economic and community development and create opportunities for decent and productive work for young and old.See how we ease poverty
Using microloans, mentorship, and business education, local Rotary members helped Detroit’s fledgling entrepreneurs launch new businesses.
Club activities, social events, and volunteer projects offer networking opportunities that build personal and professional connections. And Rotarians can extend those networks by visiting other clubs around the globe.
